LOL, reading thru the comments in the C&D test, someone said that the vehicle which caused all the hubbub actually had this happen SEVERAL times before becoming fatal. So it overpowered the brakes... a few times, at WOT. And then it failed and broke everything.
Why would you not get this taken care of before it happened a second time? Natural Selection strikes again. -Eric
